First Air Responder (FAR) operates using reputable air charter companies based in Tanzania and AMREF Flying Doctors from Nairobi, Kenya. They can mobilise fixed wing or rotor wing depending on location and emergency. As well as medical evacuations they also use their own advanced life support ambulances for all ground handling, airport/hospital transfer and for emergencies on the ground. They have ambulances based in Arusha/Moshi and Dar es Salaam, and access to ground support in Zanzibar, Mbeya, Dodoma and Tanga.
FAR has a membership scheme for residents and tourists in East Africa. Cover is from as little as 14 days up to 1 year to ensure that wherever you are in East Africa they will assist in the event of an emergency ground or air evacuation. FAR is on standby 24/7, and is ready to deploy at a moments notice to its members.
