Description

Tumbatu Island Snorkelling The island is located off the northwestern coast of Zanzibar. Tumbatu, a wedge-shaped island ringed by a reef, is relatively secluded from the rest of Zanzibar, despite the fact that its southern shore is only 2 km from the main island. Snorkelling on Tumbatu Island is regarded a safe, shallow, and accessible dive spot for non-divers, with colourful marine life and exceptional visibility (10-30 feet). All three dive sites, Shetani, Popabawa, and Mwana, have stunning, growing coral reefs with a wide range of soft and hard coral. Meet us as your guide in Nungwi for this snorkelling excursion, which allows guests to experience the diver side of Zanzibar's renowned dive spots without the requirement for a scuba diving qualification. Exploring the shallow corals and seeking for unique species such as turtles, leaf fish, octopuses, scorpion fish, moray eels, and nudibranchs. While entry to the island is strictly controlled by tribal elders, you can take a boat tour along to the turtles, leaf fish, octopuses, scorpionfish, moray eels, and nudibranchs are all common sights on Tumbatu Island. Participants in the tour will have the opportunity to explore the vibrant underwater world of Tumbatu Island through guided snorkeling sessions. The coral reefs are home to a diverse range of marine species, including colorful fish, sea turtles, and other fascinating creatures. Snorkelers can witness the beauty of the coral formations up close and observe the marine life in their natural habitat.
