Description
This half day trip will just start by enjoying walking tour in the World heritage site of Zanzibar’s ancient town. You will visit different historical sites, this sightseeing on foot means you can leave cars behind while following Stone Town’s most narrow, winding streets, Stone town is famously known for its prominent historical and artistic importance from Eastern to Central Africa. Its history mostly dates back to 7th century with defused culture and its architecture where the world explorers met up. After spending hours in stone town now your guide will take you the seashore to take a wooden dhow to a beautiful island mostly known as Prison Island, but it has gained so many names because of different reasons. On this beautiful island, spend some time exploring the area and discover the collection of over 50 tortoises that live inside the island, some of which are more than 100 years old. The second oldest tortoise in the world is found there in the island. Another main attraction during the Prison Island Tour is the historical site of the central prison of Zanzibar, from which the name of the tour derives. This was built back in 1893, but despite the fact that it has been named as a prison it was never used as a prison in reality.Includes
