Neema Crafts Guest House
Tanzania
The Neema Crafts Guest House opened in July 2011 by the British High Commissioner to Tanzania is the first fully disabled run guest house in the world.
Breakfast is included and served in the Neema Crafts restaurant from 7.30am. WiFi internet is available and the Neema Crafts internet cafe is known for it's high speeds. A laundry service is also available (machine washed).
The reception is a great place to get contacts for local tourist attractions, guides for local hikes as well as safari operators and the guest information packs contain lots of great sugestions. They also sell local maps, postcards and a fantastically informative guide book to Iringa from the 1950's. Make sure you set aside time to take a tour of the rest of the Neema Crafts Centre during your stay.
The whole guest house is, as you would expect from a place like this, fully disabled accessible. There is off road parking available which is guarded by a security guard at night. Located in a quiet location in the heart of Iringa from where you can easily explore the town on foot, this is a great place to base yourself to explore the region, or organise a safari to Ruaha National Park or visit the newly discovered prehistoric rock art just outside Iringa town.
You can stay here in the knowledge that you are helping support the valuable physiotherapy work for disabled children going on in Neema Crafts Childhood Physiotherapy Unit.
