Zanzibar Yoga with Jo
Yoga is a beautiful way to explore the body and mind. Regular practice brings strength and awareness to the body and improves both physical and mental well being. Practicing yoga, we learn to reconnect with ourselves, creating harmony, health and balance.
Jo Fox is an Internationally accredited Yoga teacher based in Zanzibar, Tanzania. Registered with The Royal Yoga Alliance with teacher training carried out at the Africa Yoga Centre. She has also practiced at the Sri K Phatabhi Jois Institute of Ashtanga Yoga in Mysore, India with Saraswati Jois.
Jo has been teaching regular classes in Zanzibar for over 4 years and has built up a steady client base of residents and also works with many tourists who pass through. Private classes are also available for individuals or groups. She also works with toddler and junior groups.
Each class comprises flowing, dynamic and powerful postures including standing poses, balancing poses, forward bends, twists, back bends and inversions. Adjustments are given as necessary to ensure correct alignment and to allow students to explore their full potential in a posture. Classes are open to all ages and for beginners to advanced practitioners.
From time to time she runs retreats in Zanzibar and on the mainland.
