Forodhani Park is situated on the waterfront of Stone Town in Zanzibar, with walkways, a children's playground and a restaurant; and at night this lovely park comes alive with a popular food street market.
Located in front of the House of Wonders and the Old Fort the park becomes especially crowded after sunset where tourists and locals flock to try out the Swahili and Zanzibari cuisine delicacies such as grilled seafood, samoosas, cassava and sweet potatoes. Don't forget to ask for the Zanzibar pizza! For something cool one can either sip on freshly squeezed cane juice or order an ice cream from the little nearby shop.
While in Stone Town we highly recommend visitors to make a plan to visit Forodhani Park, especially during the evening, where one can mingle with the locals, watch children vying for the best dives & jumps into the ocean and soak up the ambience of a time that has stood still.
