Nafasi Art Space

Nafasi Art Space is a centre for visual contemporary art in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. We are situated at a large industrial plot in Mikocheni B, on the terrain of a former factory. Nafasi has built 6 studios in the old warehouse and 5 on our large plot.

Beneath a makuti roof or in the shadow of the mango tree, artists work and create at Nafasi. We have 15 member artists who come in daily to work in their studios. When their work is ready they can exhibit their art in the gallery.

We provide a platform for artists through development, production and entrepreneurship in the Visual Arts by providing training, exchange and exhibition of contemporary arts locally, regionally and beyond.
