Meru Mbega Lodge

Meru Mbega Lodge is a serene retreat set on the lush slopes of Mount Meru at the very gate of Arusha National Park, in Usa River, Tuvaila, Tanzania. This lodge offers an intimate connection with nature, where guests can enjoy views of Kilimanjaro and the diverse wildlife that often wanders into the garden. It's not uncommon to see giraffe, zebra, and various bird species from the comfort of the lodge's veranda.

The lodge features 20 rooms designed to accommodate between two to five guests each, split between the Meru and Simba Bandas. All rooms are ensuite, with breakfast included, ensuring a comfortable stay for couples, families, and solo travelers. The Meru Bandas offer standard and family rooms, with one room equipped with a kitchen corner for those who prefer to prepare their own meals. The Simba Bandas are located in a quieter part of the lodge and cater to honeymooners and mountain climbers, with options for twin and triple rooms as well.

The central feature of the lodge is an open-plan building under thatch, which houses an African-style restaurant, a warm and welcoming bar, and a relaxing lounge area. Alongside the accommodation, guests can enjoy a swimming pool, an outdoor fitness area, a small Maasai souvenir shop, and a campsite with well-maintained facilities, all set within expansive gardens that are home to dozens of bird species.

Meru Mbega Lodge is perfectly positioned for a range of activities. It serves as an ideal starting point for climbs up Mount Kilimanjaro and Mount Meru and offers easy access to safari adventures in Arusha National Park, where elephants, buffalo, and flamingos can be spotted. Walking tours to the local village markets, led by knowledgeable guides, provide a cultural touch to the experience.
