Description

Day 1: Zanzibar – Dar es Salaam – Morogoro – Mikumi Begin with an early hotel pickup in Zanzibar and assistance at the ferry terminal. Take a high-speed morning ferry to Dar es Salaam, then transfer to the central station for the electric train to Morogoro. Enjoy a scenic rail journey across coastal plains to the Uluguru foothills. Upon arrival in Morogoro, be picked up in a private 4x4 and drive to Mikumi (approx. 2–3 hrs). Check in to your lodge, enjoy lunch, and embark on a late-afternoon game drive for golden-hour wildlife viewing. Return to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay. Day 2: Full-Day Safari in Mikumi Start with a sunrise game drive across the Mkata floodplain and Acacia woodlands. Stop for a bush breakfast and continue tracking lions, elephants, giraffes, and plains game. Visit hippo pools and birding hotspots, and enjoy a picnic lunch in a designated area. Return to the lodge for poolside downtime, with an optional guided nature walk (if available). Enjoy dinner and another overnight stay at the lodge. Day 3: Mikumi – Morogoro – Dar es Salaam – Zanzibar Begin with an optional short dawn drive (time permitting). After breakfast and checkout, transfer back to Morogoro. Take the electric train to Dar es Salaam, then transfer to the ferry terminal. Board the afternoon/evening ferry to Zanzibar and be dropped off at your hotel.
