ITINERARY: We pick up our guests at 08:00 hours in Arusha drive 2.5hrs to Materuni village in Kilimanjaro, Materuni is still an authentic tribal village home to the Chagga tribe and the last village before the Kilimanjaro National Park. Upon arrival, register at the village office then begin your trip. First we start by a village walk to visit the waterfalls, which are around a 45-minute walk away. On the way, learn about the culture of the Chagga tribe, village life, and the surrounding flora and fauna with your guide. Admire the breathtaking views and with luck, catch sight of the summit of Kilimanjaro. When you reach the waterfalls, marvel at cascades that are more than 80-meters (262-feet) high. We will spend most of the time around mount Kilimanjaro and that may guarantee high chance of seeing and taking good photos of the mountain. Experience the authentic culture, Materuni village has it all: History culture, cuisine and plenty of lively conversation by visiting a local coffee plantation and meet the coffee boys these guys will help you to make your own cup of coffee using traditional ways, taste local coffee and gained knowledge about coffee from how it is grown until you have it in your cup. We will also have Hot local lunch at the coffee farm and then drive to Arusha on our way back we go for canoe at Lake Duluti and learn different species of birds and about the legendary of the lake in connection to the mere tribe’s, rituals Lake Duluti is formed inside a volcanic crater and has water throughout the year, mainly from groundwater and seasonal rainfall. The crater is a subsidiary vent to Mount Meru (4566m) that towers over the lake. The lake itself also provides the perfect habitat for water birds and Duluti is claimed to have up to 130 different species. The most common birds that can be seen include grey herons, fish eagles, cormorants, ospreys, egrets and kingfishers. We will go canoeing to explore the lake for a different perspective. This is a great way to explore the marsh areas of the lake. Here, huge papyrus plants are a noisy, colorful nesting ground for many of the birds. Usually a canoe trip around the lake takes around 2 hours
