Sand Rivers Selous
Set on a wide curve of the Rufiji River, Sand Rivers Selous has been a well-loved hub for safari buffs since the late 1980s when camp founder Richard Bonham first discovered this place on one of his famous portered walking safaris.
Sand Rivers opens up a window on the private lives of Africa's big mammals and takes you
into the heart of this wild park. Occupying the best location in the park, Sand Rivers allows you to immerse yourself in the rhythms of Africa; exploring on foot, by boat or by vehicle. Without a doubt, a night out fly-camping under the stars is one of the most memorable experiences.
The lodge offers an interesting and varied safari experience with lots of different
activities in the best location in the Selous. Guests can fully immerse themselves in wild Africa: on foot, by boat, in open vehicles all with expert guides. Day trips can be arranged to Stiegler's Gorge and the Hot Springs. Fly camping under the stars in mosquito net tents are also on offer.
The camp is only short flight from Dar es Salaam and easy to combine the Selous with Zanzibar/islands.
