Description
Begin your adventure with a journey through the Joani Forest in the southern part of Zanzibar Island. Discover unique species, such as the rare Zanzibar red colobus monkey, as you wander through the forest.
On the mangrove boardwalk, watch Indian Ocean tropical fish gracefully swimming amongst the mangrove roots and observe agile crabs scuttling across the mud, guided by the ebb and flow of the tide.
Learn how Zanzibar’s wildlife evolved in isolation from the mainland, follow a boardwalk through a mangrove swamp, and walk between towering eucalyptus and mahogany trees that provide essential habitat for native birds.
Next, visit a reptile park to see Aldabra giant tortoises, snakes, chameleons, and more.
Finally, head to Salaam Cave at Kizimkazi in the south of Zanzibar. Visit one of Zanzibar's best-kept secrets – Salaam Cave (Turtles Sanctuary) – a unique natural swimming pool.
Reconnect with nature, explore the underground life, relax and enjoy the peace while swimming and taking photos with the turtles and beautiful birds from above.
