Option 1: Day Trip to Kikuletwa, Chemka Hot Springs, from Arusha.
Kikuletwa Hot Springs is among the best natural water springs in the Kilimanjaro region. It is located near the village of Boma la Ng’ombe, a remote area where also locals come to relax and take a swim. You can jump from the trees, swing on a rope, and dive into the crystal-clear water. Take in the beautiful scenery, it’s like a little oasis. Slowly it’s getting more noticed by tourists, just blend in with the local crowd, have a chat and have fun while relaxing in the water. So don’t forget your swimsuits and towels, you even get a special free spa treatment of the little fish in the hot spring, they love to eat your dead skin and make your skin smooth and soft.
Option 2: Day trip Marangu Cultural Guided Walking, Chaga, from Arusha.
Experience a full-day walking tour at Marangu, located on the foot of the famous Mount Kilimanjaro. As you explore, learn about the Chaga culture and take in the breathtaking scenery of Mt. Kilimanjaro and the beautiful views surrounded by the Kilasya waterfalls.
A full-day cultural walking tour through Marangu, at the foot of Kilimanjaro, offers breathtaking scenery. This area consists of numerous waterfalls including the beautiful Kilasya waterfall (our favorite!), which you will visit during the tour.
Next, our guide will take you along to an underground cave, believed to be over 300 years old and which was being used as a war hideout bunker, during pre-colonial Africa.
You will also get the chance to learn more about the Chaga culture by visiting a traditional Chaga house and joining a coffee tour. You can participate in the processing of coffee and have a cup of course. The Kilimanjaro area is now one of the leading coffee producers in the country. A light climb up Ngangu Hill with its fantastic view is a pleasure. On clear days the snow on Kibo Peak seems close, the plains are wide and the Pare Hills can be seen.
