Description

Begin your day with a convenient pickup from your hotel, lodge, residence, or an agreed meeting point in Moshi. After a short briefing, your local guide will introduce you to the cultural background of the area and start the day with visits to selected local places depending on your interests, time, and preferred activity level. Learn about the Chagga people, one of the main communities living around Mount Kilimanjaro. Hear stories about traditional life, farming practices, local family culture, food preparation, ceremonies, and how communities have lived on the slopes of Kilimanjaro for generations. Visit a local coffee farm to see how Kilimanjaro coffee is grown, harvested, dried, roasted, and prepared. Take part in the coffee-making process and enjoy a fresh cup of locally prepared coffee. Depending on the selected route, walk through banana plantations, vegetable farms, village paths, and local homesteads. Get a better understanding of how people farm, cook, trade, and live around Moshi. Visit a local market to see fresh fruits, vegetables, spices, local products, and the busy daily life of Moshi people. Take the opportunity to take photos, learn about local ingredients, and understand how local business works in town. For a deeper cultural experience, enjoy traditional food tasting or a local lunch. This may include popular local dishes from the Kilimanjaro region, prepared in a simple and authentic style.
