Day 1: Dar es Salaam – Train to Mikumi – Bush Walk & Maasai Visit
Start your journey with an early pick-up from your hotel or ferry in Dar es Salaam and transfer to the SGR train station. Board the train to Morogoro and enjoy the scenic views of the Tanzanian landscape during the train ride.
Upon arrival in Morogoro, you will meet your professional driver-guide and proceed to Mikumi National Park by road.
After lunch at your hotel, go for a guided bush walk in the nearby natural reserve. With the help of a knowledgeable guide, explore animal tracks, plants, birds, and smaller game in their natural habitat, an entirely new experience compared to a game drive.
In the late afternoon, visit a traditional Maasai village. Get to meet the Maasai people, learn about their culture, and see their traditional attire, as well as enjoy their warm welcome songs and dances.
Dinner and overnight stay at Chambo Villa Mikumi or similar mid-range hotel.
Day 2: Full-Day Game Drive in Mikumi National Park
Wake up early for breakfast before heading out for a full-day safari in Mikumi National Park, one of Tanzania’s most accessible and wildlife-rich parks.
Explore acacia woodlands and seasonal waterholes. The park is home to elephants, buffaloes, lions, giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, hippos, and crocodiles. With some luck, you may also spot leopards and hyenas.
Your experienced driver-guide will take you to prime wildlife-viewing areas while sharing insights about animal behavior and the park’s ecosystem. Enjoy a picnic lunch inside the park surrounded by the sounds of nature.
In the afternoon, continue your game drive perfect for photography and birdwatching, with over 400 bird species recorded in the park. As the sun sets, return to your Hotel for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3: Return to Dar es Salaam
After breakfast at Chambo Villa Mikumi, check out from your lodge and begin your journey back to Dar es Salaam. Travel by road to Morogoro, enjoying the scenic countryside along the way.
Board the SGR train in Morogoro for a comfortable ride back to Dar es Salaam. Relax on the train and take in views of Tanzania’s rural landscapes as you return to the city.
Arrive in Dar es Salaam in the evening, where your safari concludes. You will be dropped off at your hotel, ferry terminal, or preferred location
