Doreen Mashika

When in Stonetown, Zanzibar, a visit to Doreen Mashika is a must. Her beautifully made ladies' clothing, bags and shoes grace the runways of Italy, and are all made from Kanga and other locally-produced fabrics and leathers. Doreen Mashika is a Tanzanian designer whose brand was founded in 2007... her designs blend African traditional fabrics with African beads and other details to create truley unique products that incorporates the western culture and African style. She designs anything from shoes, bags and stunning clothes. She is a designer who manage to create something new and  exciting with African textiles - in this case with Kitenge fabrics.
