Description

Your journey begins with a scenic boat ride to Prison Island (Changuu Island), just off the coast of Stone Town. As the boat cuts through the turquoise waters, the silhouette of the island grows clearer. Upon arrival, you're welcomed by the sight of historic prison ruins — once intended as a detention center, but later used as a quarantine station. The real stars, however, are the giant Aldabra tortoises, some over 150 years old. You'll have the chance to feed and walk among them, learning about their history and conservation. Afterward, relax on the white sandy beach or go snorkeling in the crystal-clear waters, where vibrant coral and tropical fish dance beneath the surface. Next, you'll head inland to a Spice Farm for a sensory journey through Zanzibar’s rich agricultural heritage. A local guide will lead you through lush plantations of cloves, nutmeg, cinnamon, cardamom, vanilla, and more. You'll smell, touch, and even taste fresh spices and tropical fruits right from the source. Watch skilled climbers scale palm trees to harvest coconuts, enjoy a live demonstration of local products, and receive handmade gifts like spice necklaces or palm-leaf hats. Finally, the day winds down with a tranquil visit to Jozani Forest, Zanzibar’s last remaining natural forest. As you wander along shaded wooden walkways and beneath a dense canopy of mahogany and eucalyptus, you’ll encounter rare Red Colobus monkeys, found only in Zanzibar. Watch them swing freely from branch to branch, sometimes coming astonishingly close. Your guide will share insights into the forest's unique biodiversity, including medicinal plants, mangrove swamps, and other rare species. From ocean to forest, this tour offers a perfect blend of wildlife, culture, history, and natural beauty, immersing you in the heart of Zanzibar’s unique charm.
