Description

Begin your day with a pickup from your hotel or a designated meeting point in Stone Town. Board a traditional wooden boat and enjoy a scenic ride over the clear turquoise waters of the Indian Ocean, offering views of the coastline as you head towards Prison Island. Upon arrival, explore the island’s highlights. Visit the Giant Tortoise Sanctuary to see and interact with the famous Aldabra giant tortoises, some of which are over a hundred years old. Feed them and take photos. Next, explore the remnants of the old prison building, which was built in 1893 but never actually used as a prison. Learn about its history as a quarantine station. Relax on a small sandy beach, sunbathe, or take a swim in the crystal-clear waters. If you’d like, snorkel off the coast to explore the marine life and coral reefs. Afterward, take a boat ride to the stunning Nakupenda Sandbank. Step onto the soft, pristine white sands of Nakupenda (meaning 'I love you' in Swahili). This isolated sandbank is a true paradise, perfect for unwinding and soaking up the sun. Swim in the crystal-clear, shallow waters surrounding the sandbank. Snorkel to discover the vibrant underwater world with its colorful fish and coral reefs. Enjoy a mouth-watering barbecue lunch freshly prepared on the sandbank. Savor a variety of fresh seafood, including grilled octopus, lobsters, calamari, prawns, and fish (like tuna), served with fries and salads. Vegetarian options are often available upon request. Sip on fresh tropical fruits (mangoes, pineapples, watermelons, bananas, coconuts) and soft drinks (water, sodas). Capture stunning photos of the sandbank’s scenery before returning to Stone Town.
