Description
Begin your experience at Paje Bus Stop or with a pickup from your hotel if you are staying in Paje, Jambiani, or Bwejuu. Meet your local guide and begin walking through the narrow streets of Paje village. Along the way, see local homes, schools, small shops, and food stalls that form the heart of village life. Continue to a women’s cooperative where artisans make handmade baskets, mats, and hats from palm leaves. Visit a small workshop that produces natural soaps and oils using coconut and seaweed. Join in and try weaving or soap shaping with the guidance of local women. This hands-on session offers a direct connection with the people who keep these traditional skills alive. After the craft session, head to a nearby café for Swahili tea or spiced coffee. Then, walk to the beach area, where fishermen prepare their boats and nets for the afternoon tide.
