Description

Embark on a 7-day Kilimanjaro climb via the Umbwe Route, a thrilling adventure to Africa's highest peak. Begin in Moshi, meeting your guide and driver for a journey to the Umbwe Gate. After park formalities, hike through ridges and valleys to the Umbwe Cave Campsite, where you’ll spend your first night. On day two, trek through the Moorland forest, enjoying views of the Baranco valleys and Kilimanjaro’s snowcap. After a 4 to 5-hour hike, reach Baranco Camp for a night of rest. Day three is for acclimatization at Baranco Camp, helping you adapt to altitude changes and increasing your chances of a successful summit. Spend the day relaxing and taking photos. Day four brings the challenge of climbing the Baranco Wall, a 4-kilometer trek through alpine desert valleys with views of Kibo Peak, southern glaciers, and the western bridge. Reach Karanga Camp for a well-deserved rest. On day five, hike through the alpine desert, enjoying stunning views of Kilimanjaro’s Kibo and Mawenzi cones. After a 4 to 5-hour trek, arrive at Barafu Camp, completing the southern circuit of Kilimanjaro. Rest and prepare for the midnight summit attempt. Day six is the highlight: the summit day. Begin at midnight, trekking to Gilman’s Point for a breathtaking sunrise. Continue to Uhuru Peak, the highest point in Africa. After celebrating your achievement, descend through the Mweka Route, stopping at Barafu Camp for lunch before continuing to Mweka Camp for the night. On the final day, trek through a wet and muddy forestry trail to Mweka Gate, where your driver awaits to take you back to Moshi.
