Description

Start the trip with hotel or international airport pick up in a 4x4 Land Cruiser. After a brief introduction, set off for Lake Manyara National Park, known for its incredible flamingos that inhabit the lakeside during the wet season. Begin your tour of the park and marvel at the 400 species of birds which inhabit the park, many of which remain throughout the year. Because of this Lake Manyara National Park is an excellent spot for bird watching. Visitors to the park can expect to see upwards of 100 different species of bird on any day. As you drive into the interior of the park, keep your eyes peeled for big cats such as leopards, Masai lions, and cheetas. The leopards and lions are both known to lounge in the trees while not hunting for prey. Try to spot other mammals including elephants, blue monkeys, dik-dik, gazelles, Masai giraffe, impala, zebras, and more. Continue on to the hippopotamus pond at one end of the park where you will have the opportunity to get out of your van and observe from a safe distance. Enjoy a late lunch in one of the many nearby camps. In the late afternoon depart for Arusha town where you will be dropped off at your hotel.
