Description
Day 1: Wildlife Safari in Tarangire National Park Get picked up from your hotel in Arusha early in the morning. After a brief orientation, begin the scenic drive to Tarangire National Park. Enter the park and immediately begin your game drive. Tarangire is famous for its vast elephant herds and magnificent baobab trees. Keep your eyes peeled for lions, leopards, cheetahs, zebras, wildebeest, and a wide variety of bird species. The Tarangire River is the park's lifeline, and you'll often find a concentration of animals along its banks. A packed lunch will be enjoyed at a designated picnic site, offering a chance to stretch your legs and take in the views. After a full day of game viewing, drive to your accommodation, which is typically a lodge or camp located near the park's exit, often in the Mto wa Mbu or Karatu area, to prepare for the long journey to Lake Natron the following day. Enjoy dinner and an overnight stay. Day 2: The Journey to Lake Natron and Waterfalls Hike After an early breakfast, depart for the spectacular and remote Lake Natron. This is a long but incredibly scenic drive, taking you through the Great Rift Valley. The landscape changes dramatically as you get closer, with the cone of the active volcano Ol Doinyo Lengai ('Mountain of God') dominating the skyline. Arrive at your camp near Lake Natron. After settling in and having lunch, embark on a guided walk to the beautiful Ngare Sero waterfalls. The trek involves walking through a stunning gorge and crossing a river, making it an adventurous and refreshing experience. The cool water and lush vegetation are a stark contrast to the surrounding arid landscape. Return to your camp. In the late afternoon, take a walk to the shores of Lake Natron with a local Maasai guide. The highly alkaline water is a critical breeding ground for millions of lesser flamingos, creating a breathtaking spectacle of pink against the red and white crust of the lake. Enjoy a traditional dinner and a night under the stars, with the sounds of the wilderness. Day 3: Sunrise at Lake Natron and Departure Today you'll have a chance to witness an unforgettable sunrise over Lake Natron, with the active volcano, Ol Doinyo Lengai, often visible in the distance. The light at this time of day creates a magical scene, and the flamingos are particularly active. Enjoy a final breakfast at your camp. Depending on your flight schedule, you might have time for a visit to a nearby Maasai village to learn more about their culture and way of life before starting the long drive back. Depart from Lake Natron and begin the journey back to Arusha. The drive offers more opportunities to see the stunning landscapes and local life. Arrive back in Arusha in the late afternoon or early evening. You will be dropped off at your hotel or Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) for your onward flight, concluding your unforgettable safari.Includes
