Description

This 7-day safari covers Lake Manyara, Ngorongoro Crater, Ndutu (migration zone), Serengeti, and Lake Natron. Highlights include the Big Five, tree-climbing lions, flamingos, wildebeest migration, and dramatic Rift Valley scenery. Accommodations range from lodges to tented camps, with daily game drives offering diverse wildlife and landscapes. Day 1: Arusha → Lake Manyara Morning drive from Arusha to Lake Manyara National Park for an afternoon game drive. Explore underground water forest, acacia woodland, hot springs, and the lake shore. Wildlife includes tree-climbing lions, elephants, giraffes, hippos, buffalo, zebras, baboons, warthogs, and ~350 bird species (notably flamingos). Picnic lunch in the park. Dinner and overnight at Octagon Lodge. Day 2: Lake Manyara → Ngorongoro Crater Drive to Ngorongoro Crater, descending 600m to the floor for a full-day game drive. Spot the Big Five (lion, rhino, buffalo, elephant, leopard) plus wildebeest, zebra, hippo, hyena, and rich birdlife. Picnic lunch at Ngoitoktok Swamp (Hippo Pool). Dinner and overnight at Ngorongoro Rhino Lodge. Day 3: Ngorongoro → Ndutu (Southern Serengeti) After breakfast, head to the Ndutu Area, located between southern Serengeti and northern Ngorongoro. This area is central to the Great Migration, especially in calving season. Picnic lunch in the bush, then an evening game drive before returning to Ndutu Serengeti Heritage Tented Camp. Day 4: Ndutu → Serengeti National Park Depart early for Serengeti National Park, with en-route game viewing. Afternoon safari in the central Serengeti (Seronera) may reveal lions, leopards, cheetahs, elephants, buffalo, zebras, wildebeest, crocodiles, wild dogs, and gazelles. Overnight at Serengeti Heritage Camp. Day 5: Full-Day Serengeti Safari A full day exploring the Serengeti. Morning and afternoon game drives showcase ever-changing landscapes, predators hunting, and massive herds. Picnic or hot lunch at camp. Return to Serengeti Heritage Luxury Camp for dinner and overnight. Day 6: Serengeti → Lake Natron Early morning game drive in Serengeti before traveling north to Lake Natron, near the Rift Valley escarpment. The area features dramatic landscapes with volcanic peaks, gorges, and plains. Arrive late afternoon for dinner and overnight at Lengai Safari Lodge. Day 7: Lake Natron → Arusha Pre-breakfast visit to Lake Natron and its waterfalls. This alkaline lake is East Africa’s only breeding site for millions of lesser flamingos (Aug–Nov peak). Other wildlife includes oryx, gerenuk, and lesser kudu. Return to camp for brunch, then drive back to Arusha, ending the safari.
