This high success rate is attributed to the route's excellent acclimatization profile and gradual ascent. The 6-day Machame Route is considered moderately challenging. It is best suited for trekkers with good fitness levels and some prior hiking experience. The shorter duration intensifies the climb but is still achievable with the right preparation. Day 1: Machame Gate (1,800m) to Machame Camp (3,010m) Distance: approximately 11 kilometers. Time: 5-7 hours. Highlights: Trek through lush rainforests, spot wildlife, and settle in at Machame Camp. Day 2: Machame Camp (3,010m) to Shira Camp (3,845m) Distance: approximately 5 kilometers. Time: 4-6 hours. Highlights: Transition to moorland terrain, relish panoramic views, and reach Shira Camp. Day 3: Shira Camp (3,845m) to Barranco Camp (3,960m) via Lava Tower (4,640m) Distance: approximately 10 kilometers. Time: 6–8 hours. Highlights: Acclimatization at Lava Tower, conquering Barranco Wall, and arriving at Barranco Camp. Day 4: Barranco Camp (3,960m) to Karanga Camp (4,035m) Distance: approximately 5 kilometers.
