Description
Upon your arrival meet at Kilimanjaro international Airport and then transfer to your hotel in Arusha. Mvuli Hotel/ Similar. Day 1: Arusha – Tarangire National Park In the morning at 08:30, enjoy a pick-up from your hotel in Arusha and drive on tarmac road for 120 kilometers to Tarangire National Park for game drives. After lunch, continue with an afternoon game viewing in the park to look for lions, leopard, elephant, buffalo, python, zebra, oryx, impala and more… where over 450 species of birds have been observed. Late in the afternoon, your driver will take you for dinner and overnight. (Meal Plan: Picnic lunch, dinner) Accommodation: Octagon Safari Lodge/Similar Day 2: Serengeti National Park After breakfast, leave with your packed lunch for a full game drive on the Serengeti Park and acacia savannah in the central to the east region. Around 12:30 and 13:00, break for your picnic lunch. Thereafter, proceed with your afternoon tour game drive. In mid-January to February, much too mid-April, 95% of the female wildebeest mate to a total of 60,000. Then 8 to 8.5 months later, those females that conceived will give birth on the same southern plains after a long journey. In the evening, drive to your tented camp for dinner and overnight. (Meals Plan: Breakfast, picnic lunch and dinner) Accommodation: Tukaone Camp/Similar Day 3: Full-Day Serengeti National Park Today will be your second day on safari and you will have both morning and afternoon game drives through the Serengeti exploring the wildlife in the great open plains. (Meals plan: Breakfast, picnic lunch and dinner) Accommodation: Tukaone Tented Camp/Similar Day 4: Ngorongoro Crater - Karatu Descend into the crater for 6-hours for a crater tour. This 100 square mile natural amphitheatre will be host to an astonishing array of wildlife and you may be lucky enough to see rhinos, elephants, lions, buffalos as well as large herd zebras and wildebeest. A picnic lunch will be taken in the crater. Accommodation:Octagon Lodge/Similar Day 5: Lake Manyara National Park After your breakfast at 08:30, drive with your packed lunch to Manyara Park for game viewing. At 13:00, take your lunch in the picnic area of the park. Later in the afternoon, drive back to Arusha or transfer to the airport for your flights back home. - Towel - travel towel is light and takes very little space
- Skin cream, insect repellent, anti-malaria medication, non-water/ antibacterial soap - handy in the Land Rover etc.
- Book to read between game viewing and other leisure times
- Cold/ flu tablets, allergy remedies, some people take a basic antibiotic in case
- Prescribed medicine (enough to last your trip). If you have specific medicine requirements, then take it with as it might not be available in the areas you are going on safari in general
- Binoculars (essential safari gear), camera and film (can be expensive and/ or difficult to obtain), lens cleaner
- If taking a digital camera: memory stick(s)/ data card(s), charger and extra batteries
- The recommended camera for a safari is a 35 mm camera with automatic exposure and interchangeable lenses. For the best results in photographing wildlife and birds, you should have a zoom lens. Remember to bring extra batteries
