Day 1: Dar es Salaam – Mikumi National Park Pick-up Location: Dar es Salaam Port/Hotel Transport: Private car to train station → Train to Morogoro → Private car to Mikumi Early morning pick-up from your hotel or Dar es Salaam Port. Transfer to the train station for a scenic ride to Morogoro, offering glimpses of Tanzania’s countryside. Upon arrival in Morogoro, a private car will take you to Mikumi National Park. Once at the park, embark on an exciting game drive while enjoying Mikumi’s vast landscapes, home to a rich variety of wildlife. Expect to see elephants, zebras, giraffes, buffaloes, lions, leopards, wildebeests, gazelles, warthogs, hippos, and many more. Enjoy a delicious lunch inside the park, surrounded by nature. Begin a guided hike through lush rainforests, home to endemic plant and animal species. Hike to Sanje Waterfalls, a breathtaking 170-meter-high waterfall with spectacular views. Take a refreshing swim in the waterfall’s natural pools. Spot rare wildlife such as the Udzungwa red colobus monkey and the Sanje crested mangabey. Enjoy a packed lunch in the scenic forest. Late afternoon, descend and return to your hotel for dinner and a well-deserved rest.
