3 DAYS SAFARI FROM ZANZIBAR TO MIKUMI NATIONAL PARK DAY 01: ZANZIBAR – MIKUMI Your unforgettable adventure begins early in the morning with a transfer from your Zanzibar hotel to the ferry terminal. Board the ferry to Dar es Salaam, enjoying the scenic views of the Indian Ocean during your journey. Upon arrival in Dar es Salaam, you will connect to the SGR (Standard Gauge Railway) train, traveling comfortably towards Morogoro, passing through lush landscapes and rural Tanzanian villages along the way. On arrival in Morogoro, your safari guide will be waiting to drive you to Mikumi National Park, a journey filled with stunning views of the Uluguru Mountains and local countryside life. Upon entering Mikumi, you’ll enjoy a short game drive en route to your lodge, where you’ll settle in before heading for an evening visit to a Maasai Boma. This cultural experience gives you a glimpse into the traditional lifestyle, dances, and customs of the Maasai people. Later, return to your lodge for a delicious dinner and a relaxing evening surrounded by nature. Accommodation: Camp Bastian Mikumi Meal Plan: Dinner DAY 02: FULL GAME DRIVE – MIKUMI NATIONAL PARK After an early breakfast, embark on a full-day game drive inside Mikumi National Park. Known as the “mini Serengeti,” Mikumi offers an excellent chance to see a wide range of wildlife, including elephants, lions, giraffes, zebras, buffalos, wildebeests, and various species of antelope. The open savannah and scenic baobab trees create perfect photographic opportunities. At midday, stop at the Hippo Pool picnic site, where you can enjoy your packed lunch while observing hippos, crocodiles, and birds gathered around the waterhole. Continue exploring different parts of the park in the afternoon, maximizing your chances of spotting more wildlife before heading back to the lodge for dinner and overnight. Accommodation: Camp Bastian Mikumi Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner DAY 03: MIKUMI – DAR ES SALAAM – ZANZIBAR After breakfast, depart from Mikumi and drive back to Morogoro for your return journey on the SGR train to Dar es Salaam. Upon arrival, board the ferry back to Zanzibar, where you will be transferred to your hotel.
