Day 1: Journey from Zanzibar to Mikumi & Maasai Cultural Visit Your safari begins bright and early with a 5:00 AM hotel pickup in Zanzibar. You'll head to the ferry terminal for a 1-hour drive, then take a ferry to Dar es Salaam. Once there, a brief 10-minute transfer brings you to the train station, where you'll board a scenic electric train for a 2-hour ride to Morogoro Msamvu, the closest station to Mikumi National Park. Upon arrival, a 1.5-hour drive takes you toward the park with an en-route game drive. After arriving at Chambo Villas, enjoy lunch, relax by the pool, and recharge. In the late afternoon, immerse yourself in local culture with a guided tour of a nearby Maasai village, running until sunset. Return to your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay as you prepare for the next day’s adventure. Day 2: Full-Day Game Drive in Mikumi National Park Following a 6:00 AM breakfast, your professional guide will lead you on a thrilling full-day safari through Mikumi National Park. Explore the park’s most popular wildlife areas and encounter incredible animals like elephants, lions, zebras, giraffes, leopards, wildebeests, impalas, crocodiles, hippos, and a variety of birdlife. At midday, enjoy a tasty bush lunch with soft drinks amidst the wild. The safari continues into the afternoon, allowing you to soak in the stunning landscapes and capture memorable wildlife photos as the sun sets. Wrap up your day with dinner and your second overnight stay at Chambo Villas. Day 3: Return Trip to Zanzibar After breakfast at 6:30 AM, depart for Morogoro Msamvu station to catch your return train to Dar es Salaam, arriving by late morning. You'll be transferred to the ferry terminal in time for the 12:30 PM ferry back to Zanzibar. Once back on the island, your driver will meet you and take you to your hotel — ending your safari adventure with unforgettable memories.
